THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE IN 2023…LET’S GET IT!
This write-up gives a picture of the year 2022 for Nimbus media limited on a corporate level in a nutshell. As the CEO, my job is to project the company’s message to the world as a representative of the whole team including shareholders and directors while leading the company as we plan and execute on strategies to generate competitive returns for all our stakeholders.
The year started with our annual corporate retreat. We needed to make sure the team had adequate direction and was in the right headspace or mindset for the year. The team returned from the retreat feeling reinvigorated and prepared for what 2022 had in store and it’s fair to say they kicked ass!
Here are a few high moments for us at Nimbus through the year 2022…
World Storytelling Day and World Water for The Children
To mark World Storytelling Day and World Water Day, Festival Mall came up with an ingenious initiative to showcase the storytelling skills of students in schools around the vicinity of the mall.
Students from five schools put up a brilliant show and students from Amuwo Odofin Senior Secondary School went home with the first prize for their creative and well-prepared presentation.
I was privileged to be on the panel of judges alongside Abiola Adenuga and Toyin Olumide. And we were all blown away by their storytelling skills. We have already spotted some future stars.

Nimbus Team Fitness Challenge
It goes without saying that “Health is wealth,” and Nimbus as a company places a high priority on the general well-being of its employees from psychological to physical. This is what inspired the Nike Nimbus Fitness challenge. This required members of the team to cover a specified distance in a specific amount of time and record the same using fitness trackers and smartphones. The main goal of this was to ensure that the team was in excellent physical and mental condition to face the year ahead.
From the challenge, two winners were recognized and given presents in appreciation of their dedication and effort. We look forward to continuing this tradition in the year 2023!
Novare Mall LED Screen Launch
The unveiling and installation of our LED screen at Novare Mall Lekki was another highlight moment of 2022. Aside from the fact that the installation contributed to our current inventory, we were delighted about being able to accomplish one of our goals, which is to provide our clients with awareness and measurable visibility through cost-effective methods.
Conversations concerning this installation started in 2020 but the pandemic set many plans back and we are grateful for the trust and patience of all involved to ensure that this plan finally came to fruition. Now our clients can reach shoppers in the Sangotedo area of Lagos through a landscape indoor screen that has high-quality video capabilities as well as networking capabilities.

Tecno Pillar Branding at Ikeja City Mall
At Nimbus, one of our core aims is to introduce innovation and novelty to whatever we are working on. We were once again proud to be associated with such values on the unique Tecno pillar branding that was installed at the Ikeja City Mall.
The client wanted the public to be immersed in the experience and not forget the brand in a hurry. The objective was to create something visually pleasing and engaging. I think the team did a great job. Kudos to everyone involved. I could go on and on about this execution but you should check out the images in our gallery to better understand what I’m saying.
The Nimbuzz Playlist
They say that music is a universal language, so what better way to interact with our diverse audience and community than through music? With the Nimbuzz music playlist, our goal is to convey our enthusiasm and passion for entertainment and music as a creative company.
The Nimbuzz playlist was created with the goal of engaging our audience and staff members in the process of selecting their favorite songs to be featured in the weekly top ten songs playlist, which is displayed on our media screens at shopping malls and all of our social media pages..
This has so far been well received with favorable comments and active engagement from our staff and audience(General Public). Oh, and in case you thought it stopped with us merely listing our top ten songs… Stay tuned because we have something HHOOOGE in store for you

Nimbus @10 Anniversary
This was a significant high point for us as a company as we marked our 10-year anniversary on November 25th 2022 at Harbour Point event center in Victoria Island, Lagos. The day was divided into two parts: the day and the evening.
The day event comprised panel talks with well-seasoned individuals in the Advertising industry sharing their views on the themes of discussion, resulting in a magnificent combination of knowledge and information from older and younger generations. The presentation of winners of the Nimbus aid project was also done during the day event.
The nighttime celebration was full of glitz and glitter, which matched the event’s African luxury theme. The venue was awash with a rainbow of colors, with visitors dressed to the nines. A big thank you once again to everyone who honored our invitations. Cheers to more years to come.

Nimbus Christmas Hunt
Christmas is a season of giving and receiving. We decided to give our viewers the opportunity to win beautiful gifts in keeping with the theme and giving spirit of the holiday season, and they enthusiastically obliged by participating in the Christmas Hunt.
The recipients received their gifts as promised. We’re delighted we could put a smile on the faces of our winners as they were in high spirits as they received their prizes. So stay off the naughty list this year, and who knows, Nimbus Santa could have an even bigger surprise for you!

Nimbus Aid Project
Nimbus Media hosts an annual initiative named Nimbus Aid Project, formally Nominate a Charity, as part of our commitment to giving back to the community. Last year we supported 10 women-led SMEs and startups with 20 million Naira worth of advertising. The purpose was to enhance public awareness and support these altruistic and brave organizations’ efforts in making an impact. Alongside partners from Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) and Techcabal and Marketing Edge just to mention a few.
Through leveraging our advertising opportunities, we hope these organizations can gain public attention and that the Nimbus Aid Project will have a significant influence that will reverberate across Nigeria’s economic landscape.
On a personal note and as an ambassador for the company, I was privileged to tell my story and speak as an expert on the following platforms:

Thinking out of the box
Startup Grind
Thinking Out The Box
My Thinking out the box session with Startup Grind was a fascinating one as I got to present my business and entrepreneurial ideas and perspectives.
As someone who has experienced the difficulties of starting up a business, I was delighted to share my experience in order to prevent others from making the same mistakes I did on my own path. Thanks to the start-up grind community for having me.
It is indeed very important to have networks and communities that support enterprise and entrepreneurship. I am grateful for the impact organizations like FATE foundation and Founders Institute have had on me and thankful for the opportunity to give back in my own way.

The Grinders Table
For me, the Grinder’s Desk was an unloading experience. I got to discuss my professional journey in a setting that was quite laid back and welcoming. From setbacks to triumphs, from losses to victories, transition and navigation through several fields led me to where I am now.
Uwem, thank you. Thank you for giving me the chance to share my experience and, possibly, motivate someone else who was looking for guidance or validation with reference to their professional choice/career path in life.

Tech and Tourism African Summit
At the Tech and Tourism African Summit 2022, I had the honor of speaking on OOH Tools and Smart Cities with other distinguished speakers. Technology plays a critical role in the tourism and travel sectors, assisting companies with day-to-day tasks and enhancing the client experience.
It was a really enlightening session and I enjoyed listening to the other speakers. I spoke on Out of home technology tools and smart cities. It was an interactive session and I was happy to be able to engage with the attendees using technology through my session thereby buttressing the role of tech in our everyday lives out of home in smart cities.
Nigeria’s tourism industry is unquestionably expanding and I would like to use this opportunity to give kudos to the organizers for their commitment.

Eskimi – Metaverse Revolutionizing Advertising In a Fast-aced Digital World
Being an advertising company that leverages technology in rendering services to its clients
The opportunity to be involved in such an insightful session was a pleasure. The advertising sector is quickly expanding as a result of new technological advancements that have improved and revolutionized the advertising industry.
In 2022, the Metaverse market reached a value of $47.48 billion, and by 2030, it is anticipated to reach a value of $678.80 billion.
There are several ways brands can leverage the metaverse to their advantage. Some of these include sales of virtual goods, creating unlockable engaging content, virtual customization of products, and virtual showrooms.
In the near future, more and more brands are bound to jump on the metaverse train as it continues to gain more traction and more individuals invest more time in the immersiveness and social interactions of it.
There is no chance the metaverse wouldn’t have a huge influence on the advertising industry with these optimistic numbers. Indeed I was highly enlightened listening to the other speakers
Caladium SME Bootcamp
The 5th Caladium Lagos SME Bootcamp highlighted the Growth Opportunities for Businesses and provided the right forum for addressing the challenges facing SMEs in Nigeria as they attempt to grow.
Speaking at this seminar was another enlightening experience in the year 2022 because of the gems and enlightening remarks made by Mrs. Oby, a seasoned expert in the financial field, speaking at the occasion was a mixture of intense emotions for me.
I definitely enjoyed the experiences and opportunities to share knowledge and learn with my hosts and other panelists. I look forward to more of such opportunities in 2023.
